Columbus Ohio Family Photographer takes on a head shot party with some fellow photographers

A group of local photographers in the Columbus, Ohio area got together this past weekend to take each others head shots. It was so much fun getting to know some new photographer as well as hang out with some old photography friends too. My pal Justine of Justine Tuhy Photography hosted us at her new house on her GORGEOUS property. She just moved out further into the rural/country part of Pickerington, Ohio and her land gets some seriously yummy light. It was the perfect spot for this amazing group of 11 photographers to swap each others head shots.

My own head shots were taken by a variety of the gals including Sarah Cropper Photography, Justine Tuhy Photography, Steph Parker Photography, Story Told Photo and Jennifer Daniels Photography {but edited my me}

Columbus Ohio Baby Photographer | Olive Tree OH Parenting Resource

Howdy folks! I spent my morning visiting my friend Kelly’s super rad new mobile parent resource truck called Olive Tree at Worthington’s Green on the Green event! Kelly has had the coolest idea of fixing up a truck to be a mobile store selling TONS of amazing baby products.

What is Olive Tree? “Olive Tree’s Mobile Parenting Resource is Columbus’ first mobile retail concept offering natural, organic, and quality made products for moms and babies. We specialize in babywearing, cloth diapers, breastfeeding supplies, baby gear, and mama & baby essentials”

Not only that, but their website has gob loads of great resources for any mother or mother-to-be. Olive Tree’s initiative is to offer people information, awareness and community. You can find them at various spots around Columbus, but the truck is also available for private events such a business events, social gatherings and BABY SHOWERS!!! How genius is that?!?

Jadas Birth |Columbus Ohio Birth Photographer

There’s a lot I want to say in this post, but it’s hard to come up with the words to say it…

I was welcomed to attend and document my niece’s birth by my brother Mark and my sister-in-law Jen. When I got the text that Jen was pretty sure she was in labor after being over a week past her due date I was beyond excited. Jada would be the first in-town cousin (well in the country cousin) for my boys and we were so happy our family was expanding.

After a long labor at home, her immediate arrival into this world turned into the scariest moment of my entire life. I can vividly remember exactly how it all played out. I remember how crazy that snow storm was that day. But that storm was nothing compared to one happening inside. I can remember how much my hands were shaking as tears streamed from my eyes. I can hear everyone’s voices yelling for her to breath. I remember calling my mother to tell her she didn’t have a heartbeat as I ushered the team of first responders into the house. I remember driving with my brother as we followed the squad to the hospital hoping for the best when we arrived at the ER. I remember how she looked as the team of doctors and nurses worked to intubate her. It is a day I will never forget.

As Jada turns one year old today I’ve been reflecting back on that very day she made her arrival. Through all the heartache that came with it, and all the struggles she continues to face, we must also celebrate the joy that is Jada. She has made our family bigger, stronger and better. The way she smiles over a silly sneeze with her little beaver teeth showing. Her big bright eyes just light up. My boys melt around her, getting as close to her as humanly possible. They love their Jada-bug. How could they not?

Her mother is one of the strongest, most positive people I know, and witnessing her labor for 36 hours was proof of this. She continues to show her amazing strength, as well as my brother, every day as they care and advocate for their daughter.

So here is the joy from Jada’s birth. My story ends just before she joins us earth-side…

TWINS!!! Seriously twin sessions are tons of fun. They are a lot of work but so worth it in the end (probably how mom and dad feel too!). Big sister Olive was a dream for her sibling shot and was so proud holding her two baby brothers. I mean, look how cute they are!! If these were my babies I’d enlarge that sucker HUGE for my living room

The M family is back again with a newborn lifestyle session! It was so fun to see this family again and see their amazing house!! It is so cool with a super rad backyard with an amazingly huge tree. Plus Piper’s nusery? Adorbs. They went with a travel/London, England theme and the end result is total perfection. They were in process of renovating their bathroom while I was there and it was so cool to see the end results posted on Facebook. I love a good DIY projectCheck out Piper’s session!
